LAPD searches for driver after near-fatal hit-and-run accident in North Hollywood

Detectives with the Los Angeles Police Department are searching for the driver of a vehicle that struck a pedestrian in North Hollywood and then fled the scene.

According to police, the pedestrian was taken to hospital with “serious” injuries.

It happened around 4:35 p.m. Wednesday on Sherman Way near Coldwater Canyon Boulevard, police said.

The pedestrian was walking outside a crosswalk when he was struck by a white Infiniti sedan that did not stop to identify itself or render assistance, as required by law.

Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics arrived on scene and transported the unidentified pedestrian to the hospital with serious injuries.

The LAPD on Friday distributed a photo of the actual vehicle involved in the accident with a reminder to stop after a collision, notify emergency services and remain at the scene of the accident.
