Alamosa News | Alamosa and Centauri each name three players to All-IML Baseball Team

ALAMOSA – The Intermountain League announced its All-League baseball team in late May, with both Alamosa and Centauri each adding three players to the roster.

For the Mean Moose, Xavier Lujan and Nelson Arambula are on the first team, while Tony Griego received an honorable mention.

Lujan had a batting average of .208 with one double and 10 RBIs. He had a career-best earned run average of 5.70, striking out 40 and walking 20.

Arambula was Alamosa's best hitter with a .418 batting average that included six doubles, one triple and 16 RBIs.

Griego had a batting average of .406 with two doubles, one triple and nine RBIs. He had an ERA of 8.56 with three strikeouts and six walks. He also stole eight bases.

The Mean Moose had an overall record of 7-16 and a 4-4 record in league play.

The Falcons had two first-team players, including Jace Haslett and Diego Hernandez. Kamryn Garcia received an honorable mention.

Haslett was the Falcons' best hitter with a .460 batting average. He had eight doubles, one triple and 15 RBIs. In pitching, he recorded eight strikeouts and 13 walks.

Hernandez had a batting average of .298 with four doubles, one triple and 15 RBIs. He had 32 strikeouts and 32 walks.

Garcia had a batting average of .333 with two doubles and 25 RBIs.

Centauri's overall record was 8-15 and in league play it was 1-7.

Cory Carver of Montezuma-Cortez was the player of the year.

Ben Garcia of Pagosa Springs was coach of the year.
