Johnny Depp recently spoke about his Hollywood career in an acceptance speech at the National Film Awards.

In the pre-recorded clip shown at an event in London on July 4, Johnny, who was honored for his role in Jeanne du Barrysaid, “Thank you for giving me the opportunity to speak with you today.”

“I am very happy and very honored that you – all of you – allow me to continue doing the work that I love so much,” the 61-year-old noted.

The Pirates of the Caribbean Star explained: “The work I do is inspired by all of you who have walked this long journey with me and shown understanding.”

“It always fills me with special humility when the recognition for my efforts comes directly from the hearts of people, from the hearts and minds of the people who have accompanied me on this long, mystical, magical, sometimes tragic – but never boring – journey,” said the actor.

Johnny said: “I can't thank you all enough for allowing me to continue to tell the stories that I believe need to be told, and for sticking with me and my quirky collection of characters over the years.”

The Dark shadows The actor also thanked his fans and added: “It is only because of you that I am here today.”

“I thank you and send you much love and respect always,” he concluded.
