Ja Morant sends message to Minnesota Timberwolves player

The NBA Draft is over, and with it the focus has shifted to free agency. Because there is some time between the start of free agency and the start of Summer League, this transactional period usually starts hot and then cools off a bit until all the executives are in Las Vegas where they can meet in person.

While most of the NBA's attention has been focused on free agency over the past few days, Summer League is now upon us and some very exciting young players will be taking part.

One of those players is Minnesota Timberwolves rookie Rob Dillingham, who was technically selected eighth overall in this year's draft by the San Antonio Spurs but was signed by the Timberwolves. Dillingham is only 19 years old and won't turn 20 until January of next year.

Before his first appearance in the Summer League, Dillingham received a message under his latest Instagram post from Ja Morant, the star of the Memphis Grizzlies:

Although Morant is still young himself at just 24 years old, he is viewed by players like Dillingham as an established veteran. Morant has been in the NBA for five seasons and has already made two All-Star appearances, making him one of the more established young stars in the game.

It's cool to see Morant show his support to a young player like Dillingham, as mentorship from current NBA players is very important for rookies. It seems like Dillingham will have the Grizzlies star by his side as he begins his NBA career.
