Kendrick Lamar releases “Not Like Us” video | Videos

Kendrick Lamar shared the video for “Not Like Us”.

The song ended his war with Drake and became an instant worldwide hit. Kendrick Lamar's “Not Like Us” was a real chart hit and mixed a rousing beat by Mustardsome of his most powerful, yet catchy rhymes and also the odd potential slander.

“Not Like Us” gets under the skin of every listener, but until now it was missing one crucial component: a music video.

The clip was posted online on July 4th – Independence Day – and immediately broke the internet. The video had over a million views on YouTube before K Dot even posted it on his social channels. It's part of his bravura victory lap.

Fresh from this all-star event in Los Angeles, Kendrick Lamar reunites with Dave East for the clip, and there are some noticeable icons in the recording.

The team builds a giant piñata in the shape of an owl – is that a reference to Drake? An indirect reference to OVO…?

Kendrick is accompanied by his partner Whitney and their children and dances in the clip; this is a visible reaction to some of Drake's attack lines during his own diss songs.

Featuring a cameo from DeMar DeRozan, the video reinforces Kendrick's belief that Drake is “a colonizer” – perhaps that's why he chose an Independence Day drop…?
