Chippewa Falls Post 77 falls near Eau Claire

EAU CLAIRE – The Chippewa Falls Post 77 Senior Legion baseball team lost its annual Fourth of July game in Eau Claire, 7-1, at Carson Park on Thursday.

Carter Stelter was 2-for-3 and scored the only run for Post 77 (9-9). Jackson Gugel had two hits and Lucas Logslett worked two walks and stole a base. Jaxen Donohue allowed one earned run in 2.2 innings of relief.

Leo Lauscher hit 2 for 3 with a home run and four runs batted in, and Chase Watkins got the win on the mound with four strikeouts in six innings and allowed one earned run for Eau Claire.

Earlier this week, Post 77 lost to Medford 7-1 on Tuesday at Casper Park. Logslett scored the team's only run of the game and Stelter hit a double for Chippewa Falls.

Nolan Matson was 4-for-5 with a double and scored two runs for Osseo (13-2). In Eau Claire, a fifth inning with seven runs helped the Cavaliers win over the Athletics.

Andrew Milner struck out 14 players on the mound in six scoreless innings for Eau Claire (9-4), allowing nine hits and a walk. Sam Knickerbocker was 3-for-3 with one run batted in.

Logan Brown had two hits and Jakob Rosemeyer hit a double for the Athletics (4-10).
