Samsung is expected to unveil the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Z Flip 6 at its upcoming Unpacked event on Wednesday, July 10, but new information from renowned leaker Evan Blass leaves little to the imagination when it comes to the spec sheets of the new foldable smartphones (via 9to5Google).

Marketing images leaked by Blass (@evleaks) essentially outlines everything we can expect from Samsung's latest generation of foldable devices in a Substack newsletter. According to the leaks, the Z Fold 6 and Z Flip 6 will be lighter and slightly thinner than their respective predecessors, while also boasting longer battery life.

Both the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Z Flip 6 will reportedly offer similar “Galaxy AI” features as the Galaxy S24 series that launched earlier this year. Additionally, the Z Flip 6 will offer an intuitive new use case for Samsung's Interpreter Mode, where the user can view the text of a translated language on the front cover screen and point it at the person they are speaking to while using the main screen to translate their words.

Assuming Blass' leaks are accurate, here's a breakdown of the specs for Samsung's upcoming foldable phones:

  • Maximum brightness of 2,600 nits (compared to 1,750 nits on the Z Fold 5).
  • IP48 dust and water resistance
  • “Improved Armour Aluminum Frame”

The Galaxy Z Fold 6 is said to be 14 grams lighter than its predecessor. In terms of size, the foldable device will be 1.4mm shorter, 1mm wider and 1.3mm thinner when folded, and 1.4mm shorter, 2.7mm wider and 0.5mm thinner when unfolded.

The camera system and Gorilla Glass Victus 2 cover glass remain unchanged. It will also have the same battery capacity as the Z Fold 5 (4,400 mAh), although marketing materials promise an hour longer LTE internet battery life and two additional hours of video playback. The main display has a slightly different resolution, namely 2160×1856 instead of 2176×1812 on last year's model.

  • 6.7-inch interior screen
  • 3.4-inch external screen (IPS instead of OLED)
  • 50 MP main camera (compared to 12 MP on the Z Flip 5)

In terms of physical footprint, the Galaxy Z Flip 6 is 0.2mm thinner than its predecessor when folded. The rest of the device's dimensions and weight are the same as the Galaxy Z Flip 5. Samsung's Z Flip 6 will also be the company's first foldable device to feature vapor chamber cooling.

According to the leaked materials, the Z Flip 6's larger battery allows for two hours more battery life on LTE internet and an additional three hours on video playback. In addition, the Z Flip 6 also more accurately reflects the available color schemes.
