AJ Dillon of the Packers competes in the John Deere Classic Pro-Am golf event

AJ Dillon may be taking a summer break from football, but the competition hasn't stopped.

Lately, they have simply expanded beyond the football field.

A few weeks after the gregarious Packers player competed in an American Cornhole League celebrity cornhole tournament with teammate Carrington Valentine, Dillon entered another sporting arena.

He was on the golf course.

Dillon competed in the John Deere Classic Pro-Am in the Quad Cities community of Silvis, Illinois on Wednesday.

Dillon formed a team with three others and was joined on his 18-hole round by professionals Sepp Straka and Greyson Sigg, who each played nine holes.

“Such an incredible experience at the John Deere Classic,” Dillon noted on Instagram on Wednesday, sharing a video of his day.

Dillon laughed heartily as he wrote in the post: “It was great to be able to give Sepp Straka and Greyson Sigg some tips on how to play well on this course.”

“I can’t wait for next year,” Dillon added.

We should have seen this coming for Dillon.

He recently played at Whistling Straits in Kohler, Wisconsin, a course that has hosted several major championships and the Ryder Cup over the past two decades.

Football and his life outside of it have worked out pretty well for Dillon so far, but now he's adding some connections to the world of golf to his ever-growing portfolio.

“The road to my Korn Ferry Card is coming soon,” Dillon joked again, referring to the development tour of the USA.

When the Packers' training camp begins on July 22, Dillon will trade in his golf clubs for his football gear, meaning he still has a few weeks to take the vacation his teammate Keisean Nixon recommended after seeing a video of Dillon running up the stairs at an empty Lambeau Field last month.

Dillon, who was drafted by the Packers in 2020, re-signed with the team this offseason.
