'Bridgerton' casting director reveals she receives 'unsolicited' X-rated casting videos every day

Some Wannabe stars are so desperate to be in the next season of “Bridgerton” that they are bombarding casting director Kelly Valentine Hendry’s inbox with “unsolicited” videos.

During his appearance in Sunday’s episode of “Should I delete this?“ podcast, Hendry, who has worked on the Netflix period drama since it first aired in 2020, admitted that NSFW clips land in her inbox just in time for them to arrive.

“This happens every day… I get the most incredible videos unsolicited,” Hendry, 47, told the podcast's hosts, Em Clarkson and Alex Light. “Basically, it's about sex. It's not real sex, but it's pretty intense. … It's not nude, but it's not far from it.”

She added: “It's a bit sad really.”

Hendry further revealed that many of the actors auditioning to appear in the romance series would like to play Sophie Beckett, although the role has not yet been officially confirmed.

In Julia Quinn's Bridgerton novels, Beckett is the lover of Benedict Bridgerton (played by Luke Thompson in the Netflix series).

It's probably not too surprising that actors are submitting revealing clips, considering the popular show is known for its hot scenes.

Back in May, “Bridgerton” star Nicola Coughlan, who plays Penelope Featherington, revealed that she took on some particularly steamy scenes in the recently released third season to silence trolls who criticized her appearance.

“I specifically asked for certain lines and moments to be recorded,” Coughlan recalls working with the series’ intimacy coordinator, Lizzy Talbot.

“There's a scene where I'm completely naked on camera, and that was my idea, my decision,” she added. “It just felt like the biggest 'fuck you' that accompanied all the conversations about my body; it was incredibly empowering.”
