LEGO has just unveiled its latest movie-themed set – and it’s perfect for the 4th of July

The Lego Group has given us countless movie and TV series sets over the years. We've seen plastic versions of the DeLorean from Back to the Future, countless Star Wars sets and an incredible recreation of Rivendell from Lord of the Rings. And today (July 4), the group announced that Steven Spielberg's classic summer blockbuster Jaws is the latest blockbuster to be immortalized in brick form.

The new set was originally conceived by fan designer Johnny Campbell as part of the LEGO Ideas community platform. The set consists of 1,497 pieces and brings to life the infamous sequence in which Bruce the shark attacks Martin Brody (played by Roy Scheider), Matt Hooper (Richard Dreyfuss) and Sam Quint (Robert Shaw) aboard the Orca.

The set includes Lego minifigures of all three shark hunters. The Orca features a removable roof, adjustable boom and rigging, and plenty of accessories, from a harpoon and spear to the yellow barrels that Brody, Quint and Hooper used to track the shark's movements in the open sea.

The set can either be assembled on a seawater platform made of bricks, with the shark launching itself aboard the Orca, or you can display the shark separately on its own stand. However, the best version is definitely assembled on the base, as it features a printed tile with Brody's iconic quote: “You're going to need a bigger boat.”
