17-year-old missing for seven weeks accidentally appears in someone's live stream

There are all kinds of things to see on live streams, but it's not often that a teenager who disappeared almost seven weeks ago happens to appear in one of them.

But according to Troy Coleman’s family, that is exactly what happened.

According to his relatives, who were frantically searching for him, the 17-year-old from Mt. Morris Township, Michigan, had not been seen since May 17.

Since the investigation into his disappearance yielded no clues, it was assumed that Troy was dead.

But exceptionally, he was reportedly spotted on a livestream hosted by popular Twitch streamer Nick Lacy.

The content creator was broadcasting to his hundreds of thousands of followers on the online platform what he was doing with his buddy Clix in Miami when he saw a young man walking down the street with no shirt and wearing bright green shorts.

The boy stops and chats with the streamers as they dine outdoors at a restaurant, telling a few jokes before chatting with the people at another table.

Eventually the conversation ends and the shirtless teenager heads off.

Lacy didn't really think much more about the incident until he checked his email and realized that the brother of the man who had appeared on her Twitch stream had been in contact with him.

The man, who said he was Troy's brother named Trent, told the streamer that he was his missing family member.

The email read: “Hi, my name is Trent Coleman and my missing little brother from Michigan was on Clix and Lacy’s stream in Miami.

“He was wearing green shorts and they were making fun of him. He doesn't do drugs, he's schizophrenic and he's 17 years old. If anyone could contact me about this, I would be very grateful. He's been missing for three months and his case has been dismissed as a homicide in Michigan.”

Lacy later shared a still photo of the man he believes to be Troy, along with a screenshot of the message he received from Trent on X.

He wrote: “Yesterday on stream he came to me and Clix and now his family knows he is alive and in Miami. I wasn't sure if I should make this public but I hope this somehow helps him be found by his family.”

Troy's father, Weston Coleman, had previously publicly asked for help in locating his son, who was last seen near the intersection of Pasadena Avenue and Lavelle Road in Mt. Morris Township, Townsquare Media reported.

He suspected that his son might have boarded a bus and then left again.

Weston said Troy was unarmed and posed no threat to the public, but explained that the teenager was suffering from mental illness and hallucinations, which is why he needed medication, which he did not have with him.

The 17-year-old was last seen wearing a black hoodie, grey sweatpants and white slippers.

Troy is about 6'4″ tall, weighs 165-170 lbs, and has blue eyes and brown hair.
