Brooke's daughter Kayla Nicole Bailey was killed in a tragic car accident on September 25, 2022. She was traveling in a Mercedes Benz S-Class alongside driver Julius Weaver on Interstate 40 near Hollywood, Tennessee, when the vehicle collided with the rear of a semi-trailer that had stopped on the road due to another accident. Both Weaver and Bailey were fatally injured in the accident. Bailey was only 25 years old at the time of the horrific tragedy.

Since the first episodes of Basketball wives In season 11 (which aired in October last year), Brooke has done her best to cope with her debilitating loss. She has also expressed her struggle off-screen, posting a series of messages on Instagram shortly after the tragedy, announcing her daughter's death and paying tribute to her with heartfelt messages and shared photos.

Although Brooke seems to be coping as well as one would expect, Basketball wivesshe is still clearly struggling with the weight of her tremendous loss. On the one-year anniversary of the tragedy, Brooke posted a thoughtful but heartbreaking caption on Instagram, noting that her “biggest challenge has been not giving up.”

In honor of her first-born daughter, Brooke has founded a nonprofit organization called KNB Life. The mission statement, as described on the website, states that the company's goal is to “provide underprivileged teens and young adults with full scholarships to beauty institutes we partner with to help them fulfill their dreams and entrepreneurial ambitions.”
