Cowboy Golf receives academic awards

STILLWATER, Okla. – Oklahoma State's men's golf program honored six student-athletes on Tuesday when league officials announced the 2024 Spring Academic All-Big 12 Team.

Fifth years Hazen Newman, Dillon Stewart And Rayhan Thomas were supported in the first team by seniors Jonas Baumgartner And Bo Jin and in the second year of study John Wild.

The team recognizes the academic achievements of student-athletes at conference institutions who participate in spring sports. Sports offered for the spring season are baseball, men's golf, women's golf, rowing, softball, men's tennis, women's tennis, men's track and field, and women's track and field.

First team members are those who have earned a grade point average of 3.20 or better, while second team members have a grade point average of 3.00 to 3.19. To qualify, student-athletes must earn a grade point average of 3.00 or higher either cumulatively or in the two previous semesters and have participated in 20 percent of their team's scheduled competitions. Freshmen and transfer students are not eligible during their first year of academic residency. Senior student-athletes who have participated for at least two years and meet all criteria except percentage of participation are also eligible.
