With shoebox gifts and food to the war zone

Serve unhindered

While distributing the gift boxes nearby, We could see and hear explosions from far away.“.

Although Christians are a small minority in this country, the volunteers were able to spread the Good News while distributing the shoebox gifts and food. A handful of believers already living in the city took notice and helped the community in this time of need. We thank God that the expanded team worked together to continue to meet the physical and spiritual needs.

“While we were distributing gift packages nearby, we could see and hear explosions from afar,” said one volunteer. “When we left, the roads towards that town were closed. Fire trucks and ambulances were racing with sirens blaring.”

Another volunteer was undeterred and said: “We want to help in the cities that have been particularly affected by the conflict. The Lord has called us to bring peace and reconstruction to the places that the war has destroyed.”

Please pray for all the lovely children who received shoebox gifts. Ask God to soothe their young hearts and bring peace to them and their families through a relationship with Jesus Christ. Also ask that God would end the conflict.

Since 1993, Samaritan's Purse has blessed 220 million needy children in 170 countries and territories with an Operation Christmas Child shoebox and the Good News of God's love. You can help make that possible for another boy or girl by bringing a gift box today!

“Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called sons of God.”
